What is Solar Panel

Solarpanel make use of one nature’s most powerful and yet free resources: the sun’s energy. Using semiconductor technology, a solarpanel converts sunlight into electricity that can power your home. Solar panels are made up of semi-conducting material cells. When light falls the plates/cells, they begin to generate electricity, which is immediately usable.

Do solar panel work in UK?

“Do they work in the UK because we don’t get much sun?” is the most common question we get.” Because solar panels work even on cloudy days, the answer is yes. Although it is true that the more sunlight there is, the more energy is generated, even on overcast days, the cloud is still penetrated by enough solar radiation to generate electricity.

Are Solar Panels a Suitable Choice for Your House?

Each month, around 4,000 solar panels are erected in the UK. The rising popularity of solar panels has resulted in a 60 percent reduction in price over the last decade. Solar panels have become more affordable in recent years as new technologies have been developed to make solar energy components more cost-effective. Furthermore, solar panels can not only help you save money on your energy bills, but they can also help you profit from the excess electricity generated. The VAT on energy-saving measures will be abolished in April 2022, according to the UK government.

What are the advantages of solarpanel?

Here are a few reasons why solar panels are a good choice.

  • you’re generating your own electricity, your energy bills will be lower.
  • Reduced energy expenditures are attractive to purchasers and will raise the value of your home.
  • Most solar panel installations don’t require any permits and can be completed in as little as 1-2 days (depending on the project)
  • You may store and use the generated power at night when you use solar battery storage.
  • Solar panels produce electricity quietly, causing no disturbance to you or your neighbors.

How Many Solar Panels Do You Need?

A 4kW solar panel system would require 16 solar panels, whereas a 5kW system would require 20. The number of solar panels you’ll need to power your home is determined by several factors:

  • What is your current electricity usage?
  • Your energy objectives (how much of the consumption you plan to cover)
  • Your roof’s carrying capacity
  • The number of hours of sunlight in your area

Because these elements change from one household to the next, it’s crucial to analyze each one separately.

How a solarpanel system work?

  • Solar panels turn sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity.
  • A DC-switch is used to connect the DC electricity from the solar panels. The DC-switch is present for safety purposes and can be used to turn off the electrical flow if necessary.
  • After that, the DC electricity passes via a solar inverter, which converts the DC electricity to AC electricity.
  • It’s up to you whether or not you want to use solar battery storage. Note! Solar batteries are always used to store DC power. You can connect the battery either before or after the inverter, allowing you to store DC electricity directly, or after the inverter, allowing the battery to re-convert it from AC to DC.
  • AC electricity travels through an electricity meter from the solar inverter. Solar electricity generation, consumption, amount of electricity purchased from the grid, and amount of electricity sold to the grid are all measured by the electricity meter.
  • The AC electricity from the electricity meter is delivered into the household’s electricity system through the fuse box.
  • Solar energy can then be used in the home to power things like lights and appliances.

Is it free to get Solar panel?

When government launched ECO 4 the main purpose was to make houses more energy efficient than before. They introduced the Solar panels in ECO 4 and yes it is 100% Free to have a solar panel on your roof and enjoy the free electricity for ever.
